About

After completing an Access To Music course in Manchester, and later a degree in Commercial Music Production, Kevin found himself seated in the role as Assistant Engineer to renowned Manchester producers David Tolan and Jim Spencer (TheCharlatans, New Order). An invaluable education to the craft of music production and engineering, the opportunity to work at such a level also exposed Kevin to a myriad of talented artists that included the likes of Johnny Marr. Through David and Jim’s tutoring, Kevin was able to hone his craft and exercise his passion for growing a greater understanding for the nuances and processes of what makes a great record.

Since this early foray into the world of production in a real studio environment, Kevin has rapidly been building his reputation as an engineer/producer in his own right. Following the decision to build his own Manchester based recording studio, Kevin now operates as a full-time recording and studio engineer. To date he has worked with the likes of Sheffield duo Algiers on two albums, Ed Banger And The Nosebleeds, Slaughter And The Dogs, The Drones, William Anderson, Hey Bulldog, Kid Katharsis as well as a host of local Manchester talent.

On top of his roles as a recording/studio engineer, and active studio boss, Kevin is also a mentor for the Music Potential/Beat Bazaar projects in Manchester, which is an educational programme aimed at young aspiring musicians seeking to develop their talent and work within the music industry. The segue into the world of mentoring has also opened doors to new genres with Kevin’s recording repertoire reaching beyond just the live scene sound of bands, and now including experience in a multitude of genres ranging from Hip-Hop to House and Pop to R&B.
